FAQS:
Do you need a smartphone to use invisawear? InvisaWear works with a connected smart phone. The app is compatible with most Android devices running Android version 9.0+ and iPhones running iOS 11.0+.
How close do you need to be to your smartphone to use the invisaWear device? The invisaWear charm uses a Bluetooth connection with a paired smartphone that can be up-to 30 feet away. Depending on the phone, the range can be much farther. Unfortunately, during the majority of attacks, your phone is either out of reach (e.g at the bottom of a purse) or if it’s in your hand you can’t really look at the attacker and ask them to pause, unlock your phone, call 911, and tell the operator where you are and what the emergency is. The invisaWear charm allows you to send for help with just two clicks.
What happens if I accidentally press the button? No need to worry. invisaWear is designed just for you! A rapid double-press is required in order to initiate an alert. Additionally, the button actuation point is designed so that a substantial amount of pressure is required to press the button. When setting up the device, you'll be prompted to create a secret pin that can be used to cancel an emergency alert in the event of a false-alarm.
Can I test the emergency alert feature? Absolutely! We encourage users to test the system once a month to make sure the setup was properly completed and that they know exactly what to expect during an emergency. Using the “Test Alert” feature in our companion app allows you and your emergency contacts to safely test the emergency notification system.
Does invisaWear work internationally? The invisaWear device does work internationally. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, the invisaWear would be able to send text message alerts to your emergency contacts informing them that you are in an emergency situation. Please note that your phone must be connected to cellular data or WiFi in order for the invisaWear to send out alerts and that 9-1-1 features are only available in the United States and Canada (except Quebec at this time).
How do I select who gets notified in an emergency? After purchasing an invisaWear, you simply install the free invisaWear Companion app onto your smartphone. The companion app allows you to select a group of up to 5 contacts who you would like to be notified during an emergency.
Is the invisawear device waterproof? All invisaWear charms are sweat and weather-resistant, so it should be fine if you get caught in the rain or if you're sweating from working out, but we don't recommend wearing it in the shower or submerging it in the water.
Do I need to charge the invisaWear device? No! We did not want to burden you with yet another accessory you have to remember to charge. Our product is designed to have a long-lasting battery life so you never have to worry about charging it. We guarantee one year but it can be up to two years depending on usage. The app will notify you once your battery is running low if you enabled notifications. Replacement charms are discounted to $99 (less than $9 per month)
Why does my device show up as "not connected" in my bluetooth settings? The reason invisaWear shows up as not connected in your phone's Bluetooth settings is because it's designed to optimize the battery life for both your phone and the device. That means it's only ever connected if you double press the button. Since you've already completed the setup and paired to the device, your phone will automatically reconnect once you double click your device.
